M2i Global (OTC:MTWO) CEO Alberto Rosende sat down with Proactive to talk about the company’s efforts to strengthen the critical minerals supply chain in North America.
Rosende shares details about a collaborative agreement with Nimy Resources Limited in Western Australia, focusing on securing a new source of gallium, a crucial material used in semiconductors and LED production.
Alberto Rosende: Excellent, excellent. Great to see you again as well.
Your company is focused on fixing supply chain challenges in North America, particularly for critical minerals. One of the key minerals you’re working with is gallium. Before we discuss your latest deal, can you explain why gallium is so important?
Gallium is essential for semiconductor production, LEDs, and other cutting-edge technologies. Almost every modern application that requires advanced technology depends on gallium.
And you’ve now secured a gallium supply source from a company actively working to extract it, correct?
That’s correct. We’ve entered a collaborative agreement with Nimy Resources Limited in Western Australia. They’ve identified a strong gallium deposit, and we’re working with them to develop the site and establish supply chain endpoints to bring gallium into North America and allied markets.
Nimy Resources has made other discoveries as well, right?
Yes, besides gallium, they have identified a significant copper deposit. Western Australia is mineral-rich, and we believe Nimy will continue to uncover additional resources that could help us further diversify the supply chain.
China previously dominated gallium production. How does this impact supply chain security?
China controlled 98% of global gallium production in 2023. Then, in December, China banned gallium exports, which caused a major supply chain disruption. This is why finding alternative sources is so important.
And Australia is considered a reliable trading partner for North America?
Absolutely. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2024 expanded its domestic sourcing definition to include Australia, so they now qualify for US incentives in the critical minerals sector. This makes them a strategic supply source.
Finally, would you say this deal represents what M2i Global is all about?
Definitely. Our mission is to create critical mineral independence for the US and its allies. This agreement is a perfect example of how we’re working toward diversifying supply chains and reducing dependence on China’s near-monopoly in this area.
